MOONWALKS

Kate co-founded and played bass in Detroit’s Moonwalks, a psychedelic-garage band that became a fixture of the international psych scene. With three full-length albums and an EP, Moonwalks toured extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, and the UK, supporting Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, Metric, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Murlocs, and Thee Oh Sees. Their third studio album, Western Mystery Tradition (Fuzz Club, 2023), marked a departure from the band’s DIY psych-rock roots toward a more polished and mature sound. The album was produced by Jonah Swilley (Mattiel) and recorded in May 2019 at Detroit’s acclaimed—and rumored haunted—Masonic Temple with Bill Skibbe (Jack White, The Kills) in a lodge belonging to the Free Masons’ Detroit chapter. Moonwalks’ work has been featured in Rolling Stone France, HERO, HEROINE, and Foxes Magazine.
