Kate G. is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in Ridgewood, Queens. Originally from Detroit, she has toured extensively across North America, Europe, and the UK. Primarily playing bass, over the years she has shared stages with the likes of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, Metric, Thee Oh Sees, and W.I.T.C.H. (We Intend to Cause Havoc), among others.
In addition to her own project Moonwalks, she has also worked as a hired gun, bringing her playing to a wide range of bands and collaborations including recording and performing with acclaimed producers including Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Bill Skibbe (Jack White, The Kills), and Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs).
Kate has contributed music supervision and scoring to fashion and film projects, most recently creating original music for Vogue Australia’s June 2025 BTS feature with Phoebe Tonkin, directed by Julia Khoroshilov. She has also worked as a consultant for CREEM Magazine, and in event production with MOCAD (Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit), producing events for clients such as Dazed & Confused, NTS Radio, Carhartt WIP, StockX, Honda, and Third Man Records.
Her creative career extends into modeling and visual art collaborations, having worked with brands like Lomography, Johnnie Walker, and Good Morning Keith, and photographers including Glen Luchford, Cameron McCool, Sacha Lecca, and Alexandra Cabral. She also appears in Alexandra Cabral & Ian Svenonius’s film The Lost Record. Kate currently serves as the Creative Team Assistant at Six Wolves Casting, supporting global campaigns across fashion, music, and culture.
